Never Again…
Today is Byce’s birthday. Happy Birthday, baby girl. Last night Bryce invited 9 of her friends to come over and spend the night… next time we’re going to limit it to two… and we get to pick which two. But, she had a blast and the other girls did too. They did glamour shots and then made their own picture frames for them, the had a kerioke (however you spell that) machine and danced (don’t tell the seminary), they played games and stayed up until 2 in the morning. They woke up at 7… wide awake.
I went out with Donnie last night with the twins. His parents took us to Cozymel’s then we went back to his parents house and rocked out on Guitar Hero II! That game is probably the MOST addictive game I’ve EVER played! Who would’a thought that a tiny plastic guitar and different colored buttons on a screen could be such a blast! Bob, if you’re reading this, you need to buy a Playstation 2 and buy guitar hero, of everyone I know, I think you’d love it the most.

Church Re-Planting
I just had lunch with a couple who are part of a leadership/vision development team of a church that is close-to if not 100 years old. At one time they were thriving, but now are only running 15 to 20 people. They are just looking for suggestions on how to re-plant a church. I went into the difficulties of revitalization and the hardships they are going to face, but I also gave them hope. Because when they first sat down they thought they had no resources and were up against a wall. After listening to them, I found out that they have a tremendous amount of resources that most church planters would kill to have! When they left, I don’t know who was more jazzed about their future, them or me!

Valentines 2007
We had a blast last night! Donnie, Meredith, Rennee and myself made reservations at the very-hard-to-get-into-and-always-exclusive Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary for dinner. Now, before you laugh histerically, it was pretty good! The service was a bit slow, but that allowed time for us to sit around and talk… okay, okay, so we sat around and made fun of the "Baptist Boys" sitting around us and made rude comments about the piano player playing old hymns (trying very hard to play them romantically, though). We had fun.
Our reservations were at 7:15, we received our food around 8:30 or so, left the seminary around 10, and got home just before midnight. After taking our babysitters home and going through the nightly routines (PJ’s and toothbrushing), it was just after midnight before we got to bed. But I was still so full from dinner that my stomach hurt and I couldn’t go to sleep. It must have been close to 1AM before I finally drifted off. Then, at 3:45AM Emma wakes up (poor Rennee). This causes my brain to go, "HOLY CRAP! I HAVE A PAPER DUE TODAY!" So, here it is, 7:30 in the morning, paper written, but the website is down so I can’t turn it in… that’s just how this day is going to go I guess. If I make it through my first two classes this morning it’ll be a miracle.

New content added
I have added two new pages to the site! There is a new archive for my previous journal entries and a new page where you can write us an email straight from this site (I’m all about keeping it easy).
Blogging Education Part 2
On the right-hand side of this page you will see something that says "Journal RSS". If you are using Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox as your browser, you can click on that, then subscribe to my journal, and you will see in your favorites (or bookmarks for firefox users) when I change my journal. Life is easier than you think. So is the web.

Miracles
Well, once again, God is faithful to come through. I won’t go into any details, but a God has delivered some much needed help in a time of need through a very generous friend. We don’t deserve such grace and kindness but God is faithful to His children. I know this sounds all-too-cliche-ish, but it’s so true. Just thinking about all that God has done for us through our friends and neighbors over the past year has been very humbling. Just a quick re-cap of 2006 so you get the idea of what has happened to us:
December 23, 2005 - We said goodbye to our hometown of Grand Junction, CO with 1 sick child and a sick wife.
January 2006 - We all got the flu (every one of us) and it just wouldn’t go away for poor Rennee. I begin my first semester of school… no job for me.
February 2006 - We find out that Rennee’s flu turns out to be twins and that bed rest is eminent.
March 2006 - Rennee’s sickness worsens and has to begin cutting back on work. I still don’t have a job. My grandmother passes away so we have to make a trip to New Mexico… Again, I have no job and Rennee’s working less and less. Money becomes our prime focus (we should know better).
June 2006 - The Dr. put’s Rennee on bed rest. Neither one of us is working, but Baylor grants Rennee disability (which is about 3/4 of her normal pay). I work for one day at the Seminary which causes Rennee great stress on her and the babies. I quit the next day. I made a whopping $55.
August 2006 - I get called in to the President of the Seminary’s office (Dr. Paige Patterson) where he offers me the presidential scholarship for one calendar year to help pay for school so I would not drop out to get a job to care for my family.
September 2006 - Anna Elizabeth and Emma Kathleen are born. Life, as we know it, is no more. Nothing has been repossessed and all our bills have been paid. Only God knows how.
October 2006 - Anna becomes sick at a little over a month old and is put into the hospital and they have to do a spinal tap. At this point we’ve reached our out-of-pocket max on insurance so this doesn’t cost us a dime… Thank you, Jesus!
November 2006 - Our church loses several staff people and I offer to help out until they can hire someone new… I’m still there, and probably will be for a long time.
December 2006 - Christmas. Need I say more?
Now, through all of this we are somehow able to pay all of our bills (we never have any extra, mind you, but just enough to pay all our bills). We did it without credit cards, too. Because I know that’s what some of you are thinking, "Oh, well they just paid with their credit cards." We don’t have credit cards. It is only through God using friends, family, and neighbors to help support us through this last year that we are not homeless. Thank you. May God bless each of you in 2007 and beyond.

About Us
Bobby and Rennee met on June 19, 1996, had their first date on September 7, 1996, and they married on December 13, 1997. Their first daughter was born on February 17, 1999, second daughter born December 10, 2001, and their last two daughters born September 8, 2006.
Rennee is an RN/BSN who works on mom/baby at one of our local hospitals. Bobby is the Church Planting Administrator at NorthWood Church.
