Phase 3: Wearin’ ‘er Down (Rennee’s Side)

I remember the first “real” date we had.  We went to see some dumb movie about kids playing hockey or something like that.  Not what you would call a “smooth move” on Bobby’s part.  Anyway, my older sister, Shawnna and Bobby’s friend Mike went with us (no, no, no, they were not together in any way, shape or form… we just both needed someone there for moral support, and those happened to be the unlucky two).  I was sitting there, watching the movie, when out of nowhere Bobby grabs my hand!  It scared the daylights out of me!  I think I even jumped.  But he didn’t let go.  I got so nervous I don’t remember where I was or what I was doing.  He held it so gently, yet not feminine.  Firm, but not hard.  He held my hand like it was a jewel-encrusted egg.  The butterflies in my stomach were working overtime.  After a few minutes my hand started to sweat.  I think it was from how nervous I was.  I didn’t want to hurt his feelings by letting go and rubbing the sweat off on my jean jumper I was wearing… that would have been unlady-like.  So I just held his hand, being careful not to move a finger (didn’t want him to know I actually enjoyed it).  The movie ended and he drove me and my sister home.  He didn’t touch my hand the entire way home and it was never mentioned.  But I was starting to take notice of this blond guy and his cuteness factor was rising.
