Here’s another article that focuses on the fact that most American Evangelicals believe that Jesus was lying when he said in John that “no one comes to the Father except through me.”

America Believes In God?
Scott Kalitta Tribute
For those of you who know me, you know that I follow all motorsports very closely. Despite safety measures and new technology, the sport still claims live every now and again. Yesterday, June 21, NHRA Drag Racer Scott Kalitta’s car had a malfunction, burst into flames, and slammed into the wall at the end of the track at 300 miles per hour. My prayers go out to his family during this time.
One of the greatest poems of this generation… HANDS DOWN.. you know?
Totally like whatever, you know?
By Taylor Mali
In case you hadn’t noticed,
it has somehow become uncool
to sound like you know what you’re talking about?
Or believe strongly in what you’re saying?
Invisible question marks and parenthetical (you know?)’s
have been attaching themselves to the ends of our sentences?
Even when those sentences aren’t, like, questions? You know?
Declarative sentences – so-called
because they used to, like, DECLARE things to be true
as opposed to other things which were, like, not -
have been infected by a totally hip
and tragically cool interrogative tone? You know?
Like, don’t think I’m uncool just because I’ve noticed this;
this is just like the word on the street, you know?
It’s like what I’ve heard?
I have nothing personally invested in my own opinions, okay?
I’m just inviting you to join me in my uncertainty?
What has happened to our conviction?
Where are the limbs out on which we once walked?
Have they been, like, chopped down
with the rest of the rain forest?
Or do we have, like, nothing to say?
Has society become so, like, totally . . .
I mean absolutely . . . You know?
That we’ve just gotten to the point where it’s just, like . . .
whatever!
And so actually our disarticulation . . . ness
is just a clever sort of . . . thing
to disguise the fact that we’ve become
the most aggressively inarticulate generation
to come along since . . .
you know, a long, long time ago!
I entreat you, I implore you, I exhort you,
I challenge you: To speak with conviction.
To say what you believe in a manner that bespeaks
the determination with which you believe it.
Because contrary to the wisdom of the bumper sticker,
it is not enough these days to simply QUESTION AUTHORITY.
You have to speak with it, too.
For those of you who know me, know that I follow Mark Driscoll pretty closely (like everyone, I don’t agree 100% of the time with him, but love his “in your face” way he communicates). This is a pretty cool interview with him that was done live a little while back.
How Do You Score Life?
We tend to score life by our bank account, or popularity with the general populous. With such an out-of-whack score card, it’s no wonder that we’re seeing an increased amount of ads for anti-depressants and ADD drugs. We’re counting wrong! I’ve been following Gary Vaynerchuk for several months now and he has some awesome insight into life, business, and wine (you’ll have to visit his site to understand what I mean). Watch this video: (sorry, the original video was taken offline. Here’s a new one.)
Prayer Needed
I can’t go into any details (at this point), but overwhelmed doesn’t even begin to describe what I’m feeling these days! Work is (temporarily) morphing into something different (in a good way), school is beginning to get more stressful, and the twins turn two in 3 months! Pray that I can get a breath in somewhere! This is a perfect example of “be careful what you wish for.”
